ADIEU Yemisi Akande Eleto: Nollywood star goes home today: 1971-2011

Oluwayemisi Akande

Queen of Arts and heartthrob of many Nollywood movies fans, Yemisi Omowonuola Akande is to be buried today, just  two weeks after she departed to eternal world.

The beautiful, ever smiling mother of two boys died at Kings College Hospital in  Camberwell  South East London after a brief illness.

According to a release from the Committee of Friends which appeared on a created site for the departed young lady, she will be buried today at Woodvale Cemetery,   Forest Hill Road, SE22 0RU.

Friends, relatives and sympathisers have been urged to converge at 9am for a last farewell.

Yemisi died on June 25 this year , barely after three months after surviving a major operation following the discovery of water substance in her lung. The discovery however prompted an emergency operation which was very successful. That was in March this year.

Tragedy struck on the morning of June 25, when Yemisi alerted that she was feeling very week, apparently suffering a relapse following the earlier  operation.

She was rushed to Queen’s College Hospital in London South East  after she complained of not being able to breath properly.

At the hospital she told Doctors that  she was feeling  weak and very heavy in her heart.

She gave up the ghost just as she was being treated. All  efforts  made by the doctors to revive her was unsuccessful.

Her death had sent shock waves across London and beyond as she was only sighted by her numerous fans who had attended the Diamond Special Recognition Award less than two weeks before her death. The Award was put together by her bosom friend Bustline Yemisi Oduwole who apparently is currently feeling the weight of Yemisi death (alongside Yemisi’s aged mum) the duo having remained trusted and inseparable partners for long.

Ironically, the Diamond  award ceremony, held on June 10 this year  was Yemisi’s last public appearance before her demise on Saturday morning.

Last Wednesday, a candle lit ceremony was held in her remembrance, while on Thursday, a wake keeping event was held at Penarth Center in South-East London.

And so this morning, the final curtain will close up as Oluwayemisi Omowonuola Akanke Akande,  Nigerian actress, make-up artist, film producer and CEO of Yemak films. She is going home on a final journey to eternity joining the train to paradise, having served humanity to the best of her knowledge and ability;  promoting Nigerian culture and bringing to people’s room a major source of happiness through her film  acting. She will forever be remembered for hosting many Nigerian Nollywood stars on visit to the United Kingdom  displaying utmost hospitality and generousity. The future of her two boys and her aged mother are of great concern to many across the world, but God cares and will take control.
