Barmanga Tukur emerges new PDP National Chairman


Business Mogul and Statesman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur has emerged New National Chairman of People’s Democratic Party, election today at the party’s national convention. Former Osun State Governor and Military man, Olagunsoye Oyinlola emerged the new National Secretary.

Alhaji Tukur is the President of African Business Roundtable, an African think-thank organisation. He was a former Transport and Finance Minister and a passionate Africanist.

The election took place even though the other aspirants from the race withdrew just before the elction day.

More than 3500 delegates attended the convention from 36 states and Federal Capital Territory, Abuja by voting for Yes or No.

Also, Chief Olagunsoye Oyinlola, former governor of Osun State, emerged the only candidate for the position of national secretary of the party.

Barrister Olisa Metuh, former Deputy National Chairman South-East, was returned as national publicity secretary of the party to be deputised by Binta Mashi Garba

All delegates confirmed the election and convention as transparent and a new dawn in the history of the Party.
