Engineer Boye Komolafe: Nigeria High Commission pledges support as burial is fixed for July 27.


The Nigerian High Commission has sent a message of condolence to the family of Engineer Ebenezer Adeboye Komolafe(aka Boye Komolafe), who passed away on May 31 this year at the age of 55.

The High Commission pledged  support for the family.

Sources at the Embassy claimed the High Commissioner, Alhaji  Dalhatu Sarkin -Tafida has been monitoring development about Engineer Komolafe’s burial arrangements pledging full support while sending his well wishes to the 15 year old boy.

Meanwhile, a permanent date for the burial of the departed Engineer has been fixed for Friday July 27 2012 at 11am

The agreement for his burial was reached  on Wednesday after a meeting of the family, Komolafe’s Church burial committee  and  a good samaritan  who is taking care of the departed 15-year old son.

According to the interested parties’ burial programme agreement, a wake keeping and service of songs session will be held on Thursday July 26 at the deceased old  Church at Celestial Church of Christ Living Word Parish in Tottenham, London.

The service will commence at 7pm prompt.

Burial will take place on Friday morning on July 27, 2012 at 11.00am at East London Cemetery, Plaistow,  in East London.

Sources close to the committee said the burial agreement was amicable and that the burial committee has been in touch with heads of families in Nigeria and in Europe.

An appeal was made few weeks ago for a fund raising  as the departed left no will for his burial.

Nigerians across the city responded positively and so far,  much has been collected towards the burial.

A list of all contributors is to be published soon.

However, Erelu Lola Ayonrinde, (Erelu Tuwase of Ode Remo and Yeye Akinroogun of Ikeji-Ile Ijesa),  co-ordinating the burial arrangement has thanked Nigerians and friends of Nigeria who rallied round the family contributing to the fund, praying that God will replenish the sources of the  contribution.

Mr Komolafe, a devoted Christian and passionate Church singer and drummer died on Thursday May 31, 2012, after protracted battle with bowel cancer. Among those who had played active part in the burial fund are Central Association of Nigerians in the United Kingdom, Nollywood movies television station and many other private contributors.

Engineer Komolafe was survived by two children, Israel Temilola Komolafe, 24 years (Nigeria)  and Gabriel  Olajide Komolafe(Ricco in United Kingdom), Adenike Afolabi (Nigeria), Oluwaseun Komolafe (Nigeria), Elder Olutuyi Fabiyi ( a Pharmacist, Nigeria), Doctor Femi Dagunduro,(Cousin) and Mr Sunday Igbaroola,(Cousin) .

Nigerians and friends of Nigerians across London are are being urged to turn up in large numbers to give the departed Engineer a befitting farewell.

A short Biography

Late Ebenezer Adeboye Komolafe  was born in December 27, 1956 to the family of late elder Olabode Komolafe at Ilesa town, in Osun State Nigeria.. He was born to an Apostolic Faith.

His father, Olabode was a devoted Christian and a Senior Church worker of  The Apostolic Church in Ilesa Diocese.

His mother was a devoted Christ faithful, serving in the vineyard of CAC. She rose to the position of a Deaconess before her death.

Adeboye started his education career in the early sixties when he registered as a primary school pupil in Ibadan, Oyo State.

His secondary education started in 1968 when he enrolled in  Ilesa grammar school after passing his common entrance examination.

His tenure then as a student of Ilesa Grammar school was often celebrated by the school authority due to his brilliance and constant excellent performance. He represented the school in various outside matters until passing out in top grade in 1974.

He gained admission to the University of Ibadan 1975 where he studied Agriculture Engineering, passing out with first class honours in 1978.

On leaving University, he was employed by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and transferred to Akure, Ondo state in 1980. He served in the Ministry and rose to the post of Agricultural Project director until 1986 when he embarked on a six-month government sponsored course on Agriculture in Italy.

On arrival from Italy after the training, he was transferred to Kaduna from Akure in 1988 where he served for few years.

He arrived in the United Kingdom in 1990 and has since remained dedicated to the course of God’s service.

He strove for a prominent place in the United Kingdom, having the ambition of becoming a top lawyer. Just before his death, Engineer Komolafe completed a course in Law and was already on legal work experience before his death.

Prior to his death,he was always speaking of the possibility of establishing a legal outfit in the United Kingdom, an ambition he pursued until his final day.

Until his last day,Engineer Komolafe remained a passionate Church worker who loved to sing and play the drum set with such amazing dexterity.

He carried his evangelism across all Churches and built no barrier against other denominations.

His devotion to service as a member of Christ Apostolic Church will be celebrated on Wednesday July 25, 2012 when a branch of CAC will hold a service of songs for him in celebration of his departure.

He was a Christ Ambassador, Handsome, a unique figure, kind-hearted, bold, intelligent, motivating and always down to heart. He had his shortcomings, just like all of us as individuals… but he never wavered in his faith, trusting the POWER of ALMIGHTY surpasses every other power and can do it all.
