Dr Olayinka Obaleye: Anxiety Grows For Mama’s Health At Day7 Of Abduction- More fears are growing for Dr Olayinka Obaleye as family members, friends and close associates are now expressing anxiety about her state of health.

The industrialist and Chief Executive of Yinka Oba foam Industry in Osun State was abducted precisely one week ago just as she closed for the day and was heading towards home.

Just as her driver drove through the gate, some underworld men double crossed her car, shot the driver dead and opened the car to force the septuagenarian into their  car, driving her to an unknown destination.

Mr Abubakar Saliu, a security man at the factory, who spoke to NAN, said when Obaleye wanted to go home, another security man went to open the gate for her.

Saliu said that just as he went inside the factory building to switch off the electrical appliances; he suddenly heard gunshots and he rushed out to know what was happening following the roars of gun just a few yards from the foam factory gate.

He said that on getting out, he met a food vendor screaming “trouble, trouble’’, adding that he later found Alhaji Kamal, Dr Obaleye’s driver,  in the gutter soaked in his own blood following gun shots.

According to Saliu,  the abductors  ferried Mama Obaleye away to an unknown destination, while the other workers, including the factory’s manager  fled to avoid more attacks on the workers. The Commissioner of Police in Osun, Mrs Dorothy Gimba, confirmed the incident through the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Folasade Odoro. She said that detectives from the state police command had been deployed to hunt down the abductors, with a view to securing the freedom of the businesswoman.

Gimba said that investigations into the matter had already started so as to get reliable information which could aid efforts to unravel the mystery surrounding the incident.

However, since the quoted statement from the Police, there has been no further information to allay fears about the industrialist’s  her health. Precisely one week after the abduction, the State of Osun Police Command  has kept mum about any further development, especially to assuaging the family of any anxiety .

“Mama is diabetic and no-one knows about her situation which has increased all fears and anxiety of all across the World”, a close friend of the family told emn-news.com on Monday night.

Her health situation is further complicated by the fact that her drugs could have been exhausted if she was even havingany on her as she was abducted. Olayinka-ObaleyeAnother source, appreciating the claimed  Police concerns and precision in swinging into action just after the incident said there was doubt over what Police had claimed because for seven days there has been no further information about the incident.

“There has been an element of  incompetence  in the way State of Osun Police  Command has handled information on the kidnap of the  75 year old grandmother”, the source opined.

“The state Police Command must agree that there is a failure  in the way they have handled the incident or in the way all information over the incident has been handled”, the source said, adding that silence could be read to be anything and it gives the abductors more confidence that they are not being sought after. More criticisms of the Police have come from thousands of social network users across the World as they wait for the police to speak on the development about the abduction.
