More hope for Lagosians. Fashola is the symbol of that hope.

Governor Fashola undoubtedly stands the chance of winning the Lagos gubernatorial election as Lagosians on Tuesday flood polling centers to cast their vote for their belove son in whom a new pride has dawned on the state.

In  a signed personal passionate appeal, which goes beyond the election time and which touches on the plans for the future,  the governor spiritually envisioned the Lagos for many years to come. He enjoined Lagosians to be part of the on-going change. He said with people sup[port and participation, the real dream of  a mega city will come to pass.

He said: “As I think of Lagos, I look at Lagos anew; I see things, positive things. I see the seemingly impossible becoming possible with the active support, unflagging creative energy and collective determination of millions of Lagosians and lovers of Lagos like you, pushing outwards the boundaries of possibilities and establishing new standards of excellence…

Fashola’s message to all Lagosians

In the next few weeks, the 4 year electoral mandate you graciously gave to my party, the Action Congress of Nigeria and me to serve you as Governor of Lagos State will expire…

As we rapidly approach the renewal of my mandate as your
Governor, I have been reflecting on our collective journey so far, the long and exciting odyssey we have made to this juncture…

On this journey, we are fellow travelers seeking a New Lagos.
However, to get to a new Lagos, we must not only work towards it, but envision it…

For me, this is a moment of reflection.

Firstly, to look back and acknowledge our accomplishments, while also learning from the lessons of our short-comings. However, in looking back, we must in equal measure and even more so, look to the future; to that enchanting city of excellence that lies just beyond the horizon. I speak of Lagos…Yes! a state that is still ‘work in progress’; Yes! a state that has its own peculiar urban challenges; and Yes again! a state undergoing the rigors of transformation before our very eyes…

As I think of Lagos, I look at Lagos anew; I see things, positive things. I see the seemingly impossible becoming possible with the active support, unflagging creative energy and collective determination of millions of Lagosians and lovers of Lagos like you, pushing outwards the boundaries of possibilities and establishing new standards of excellence…

What do I see?

I see in the next four years, with your support, we will build a world class destination, a state, that is cleaner, safer, greener, enterprising and structured. A state in which the government exists to serve its citizens and the citizens reciprocate by fulfilling their own obligations and responsibilities to the state…

What do I see?

I see a centre of excellence that will forever be the template for good governance in Nigeria as well as being the economic hub of the entire West African sub-region…

What do I see?

I see a Lagos that will become AFRICA’S MODEL MEGA-CITY, reflecting to the world how we can adapt, innovate, confront and overcome the myriad social and infrastructural challenges of very large urban settlements…

What do I see?

I see a melting pot of Nigerians drawn to the bright lights of Lagos, peacefully and lawfully finding or creating their own economic niches, contributing as well as benefiting from the Lagos commonwealth…

What do I see?

I see a Lagos inhabited by citizens who have the will to determine the future and fortunes of this great state by giving their consent to who leads them and how they are led, today, tomorrow and in the future…

Fellow citizens of Lagos, this is what I see…I really want to know what you envision?

Kindly accept my sincere appreciation of your support towards our desire to deliver a brighter and rewarding future…
