Kate Henshaw, Nollywood Actress’s Lekki Home On Fire-Neighbours was to the rescue last Thursday when the residence of leading Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw in Lekki Phase 1 area of Lagos caught fire.
The inferno was said to have started from the actress’s flat kitchen and was put off before spreading to adjacent apartments.
The fire started around 3pm before neighbours struggled to put it out.
Cable news quoted a neighbour as climing that the outbreak of the fire might have been caused by a delicate electric surge. This
Henshaw, a popular Nigerian actress is famous as a frontline performing actress and has been one of the judges in the music entertainment show, Nigeria Has Got Talents. The Nollywood English film performer has performed many roles in many breakthrough films. In 2008 she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in many films.
Henshaw was born in Cross River State, Nigeria, the oldest of four children. After completing her primary and secondary school in Lagos and Calabar, she spent one year at the University of Calabar reading remedial studies, and then majored in Medical Microbiology at the School of Medical Lab Science, LUTH (Lagos University Teaching Hospital) in Lagos. Henshaw worked at the Bauchi State General hospital.
In 1993 Henshaw auditioned for the lead role in the movie When the Sun Sets and was handed the role. This was her first appearance in a major Nollywood movie.
She has starred in over 40 Nollywood movies.
In 2008 she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for the film Stronger than Pain. She is now “The Face of Onga”.
She is a judge on Nigeria’s Got Talent.
