A major war has  erupted between the  Nollywood and Gollywood over payment of royalty to both governments movie industries. The twin brother movie industries appear to be more involved in money matters rather than allow both industries to grow and attain a higher level of standards. They appear putting money ahead of credibility and quality putting money first in their budding career.

In a sharp reaction to a decision by Ghanaian authority to impose royalty payment on Nigeria actors who wants to act in Ghana movies, Nigeria has adopted a tit for tat snap back by imposing similar fees which they claimed was aimed at streamlining the industry and bring about discipline and accountability.

The Ghanaian  government has enacted laws to the effect that any foreigner seeking to shoot a movie or work in Ghana must pay a fine of a hundred thousand dollars, and also imposing  a sum of two hundred and fifty thousand dollars on  film producers.

*IT might take almost forever to convince ace Ghanaian actor, Majid Michael to come to Nigeria again to act like his peers Van Vicker, John Dumelo, Jackie Appiah, and Nadia Bhuari are doing.
Earlier, it was reported that Majid said he won’t come to Nigeria, because Nollywood producers are not professional, but we can authoritatively tell you that the story is not true. Majid actually ran for dear life.

*God Father Ejike Asiegbu, former President of the actors guild of Nigeria and A- list Nollywood Actress Mona Lisa Chinda who were honored at the Afro-Australian music and movie awards last week are back in town. Ejike was honored with the Most Notable Actor Achievement Award while Mona was honored with the Most Outstanding African Actress Award. They both gave moving speeches and were later invited out to dinner at an elite Chinese restaurant by the Nigerian Ambassador to Australia Prof. Sunday Oluwadare Agbi  who had earlier handed out the Awards to both movie stars.

*It is no longer news that the Big brother all stars season  has kicked off. As we  watch 14 house mates from 14 African countries go through 91 days of alliances, conspiracy and tactics to obtain the unltimate price what is news is that Uti Nwachukwu former former Big Brother Africa Nigeria house mate has veered into music and has come out with his maiden album GO DOWN.

Uti, who has been seen in several social and red carpets events since his time in Big Brother has been hard at work completing the album which is a pop album with a heavy Nigerian Reggae influence. Most of the songs are a bit empty on lyrical but have dance- able driving beats gets you popping your eyes and stomping your feet. Looks like it is not only movie stars who are interested in this music business. Anyway his target is  to make a quick buck!

The Nigerian Movie Industry was recently awash with stories that delectable actress Mercy Johnson may likely face ban from the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN)…

…following her controversy with Patience Ozokwor, popularly called ‘Muma Gee’ and hosts of her other colleagues coupled with her near nude dress sence.

This is also not unconnected to the allegations that the Kogi State born actress maintains a high degree of closeness with some top producers and marketers to the extent that she even bribes them in cash and kind while also using that closeness to choose the people that she desired to work with on a particular set.

When the multitalented screen diva was contacted about the allegations, she denied them vehemently and said that she is too busy to have time for all such nonsense and besides how many movie producers and marketers will she bribe to achieve such bad intentions.
