Nollywoood Stars Hit London As Afro-Hollywood Celebrates 20th Awards-The prestigious annual African Films Awards, the African Hollywood holds next week as London once again sets-out to host the best of Africans and Black British entertainments and celebration od arts and culture in the heart of London.
Expected to grace the occasion are Nollywood stars, top music stars of African and Black British descent and comedians of dofferent styles and unique blend.
On Saturday November 6, 2016, The African Hollywood will host tens of Nollywood actors and many entertainment top-shots who will converge in Stratford, one of London’s arts and culture city, which hosted 2012 Olympics.
African Hollywood Award is the pioneer host of African Film industries in the United Kingdom, celebrating the best of African artists, and promoting African culture and core entertainment. Its contribution and activities which commenced 20 years ago have contributed immensely to the huge success of the African and Black British entertainment industry and creating famous artists and actors in various entertainment forms, among them Nollywood actors, music stars and stand–up comediand who have made it to the top in the British Black entertainment industry.
The mission of the the Award then was to dig out the best of African stars at a time Africans were least celebrated and stigmatized within the society and in the mainstream media. Ever since, the Black enetertaimenet has become a formidable force in socio-cultural development digging-out many stars in the United Kingdom and in Africa, promoting and honouring the best of Africans talents. African Hollywood activities have in many ways brought honour to motherland Africa and dignity to many African talents in the UK.
Since its inception, it has hosted the best of Nollywood artists, promoting African Cinema digging out Black British top Stars, many of whom today are making waves in Film, Television and in recent years the hard-striking and famous African brand, Nollywood.
This year’s award has been organised to coincide with the Britain Black Histry Month. With all lovers of arts, film and culture called upon to join the celebration of best performers in Nollywood world and Black British Film & TV industries, coming up next Saturday November 5,2016.
It will hold at 29, The Broadway Stratford, London E15 4BQ. Red Carpet & Drinks cocktail from 6.00pm. Awards ceremony, comedy, music, dinner and dance thereafter will form part of the night attractions as the British Black Film & TV stars and UK Nollywood converge to celebrate our own World of arts and culture.
According to the host and convener of the African cultural celebration, Mr Mike Abiola, the Publisher of African Voice, this year’s Award venue will remain the old venue at Stratford Town Hall due to its cultural importance as an historical center for Black culture celebration and iconic importance having endured and resisted for long the decimation of Black celebration and holding Black community’s historical importance in the United Kingdom.
The event come up next week Saturday, 5th November, 2016 at the Old Stratford Town Hall, 29 The Broadway, Stratford London E15 4BQ. Time is 6.00pm till late.
According to the organisers of the awards, this year’s edition of the award(20th anniversary edition) aims to promote collaboration of British and Nigerian Film Industries.
The awards, always celebrating in high glamour the African culture, music and arts and would attract high-flying film actors and film investors and multi-culture experts in the best World rated film industry.

The 20th Anniversary edition of the African Film Awards will be attended by top UK government officials, diplomats, head of multi-national organisations, delegations from Hollywood, Bollywood, BAFTA, BFI, practitioners from different African countries and film enthusiasts.
African Film Awards otherwise known as Afro Hollywood Awards has honoured over 300 recipients since its inception in 1996. The awards have served the purposes of promoting and advancing the dynamic growth of Africa’s Film and Arts in Europe, especially in the United Kingdom uniting the Africans and Caribbean communities.
