The real impact on knocking the ground

It is still viewed as one of the strange  miracles of this decade as an aircraft overshot the runway,  broke into pieces and drifted to a halt without a single soul losing his life. It all happened  as a Caribbean Airline plane  crash-landed at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport in Guyana. Officials were spellbound as they picked up the pieces and carried out a swift rescue operation. Flight BW523, with 154 passengers and eight crew members had originally taken off from the  United States, The (Kingston) Jamaica Gleaner reported. It wasn’t immediately known what caused the accident, which happened about 1:30 a.m. Saturday. Dr. Leslie Ramsammy, Guyana’s health minister, said the most serious injuries were broken legs. The injured were treated at the Diamond Diagnostic Hospital before being taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corp. for further treatment. Stunned uninjured passengers and crew members still thinking they were living in dreams fled the wreckage without their luggage apparently anticipating a more deadly aftermath, thinking the plane might catch fire. The Trinidad and Tobago Minister of Transport and airline officials were expected to hold a news conference Saturday to provide further information about the accident. The crash in Pictures:
