Podium International, one of African communities social forum this Bank holiday celebrates its anniversary in London with grand style as it marks its 10th year anniversary. The occasion also will mark the international organisation’s award offer to excelling social, political and entertainment personalities and activists.
Lady Podium, Titi Aboyade-Cole claims the assemblage this year will attract new events and new innovations aimed at making the occasion a more grand one than the previous ones.
and her Award of excellence ensembles are at it again.
This weekend, the African face of authentic black entertainment, Ms Titi Aboyade-Cole will host special guests and top dignitaries to a sumptuous anniversary party and Award ceremony to celebrate her this weekend in London.
The 10th anniversary of the organisation and its 5th recognition Award comes as this year’s Notting Hill Carnival caps up a weekend of thrilling entertainment and endless celebration and the summer winds up spring knocks on the door.
“I am very excited and the reason is this year, many new things will feature so that our community and friends of our community would have something to remember for this year summer”, Titi claimed as she responded to questions during the week.
Podium Award is a yearly event that honours the African community activists who have excelled in various ways in their engagement and endeavours.
According to Titi, the years celebration has taken a longer time to plan because it will stretch its entertainment sections to reflect many sides of the community that has never been celebrated before.
Titi added “We are a creative people and our endless achievements are either never celebrated or given low level publicity due to many factors, We are here to celebrate our own and nothing can stop our instinct”.
Among the recipients during this years event are the first lady of the Ogun state Olufunsho Amosun and her Oyo State and her Oyo State counterpart, Mrs Florence Ajimobi. They are to be awarded for their roles in motivating the youths and in alleviating the life of many women in their respective states.
Also to be honoured with special Awards are Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, and an inspiring women activitist, the female politician and Commissioner for Women Affairs in Ondo State, Mrs Olasinmi Odunmbaku. Winners of many of the night award goodies will go to many top activists drawn from different sectors of our society including law, medicine, entertainment and business sectors.
Titi claimed many of the special guests have pledged to fly in on the eve of the award night as London celebrates the biggest carnival in Europe, The Nottinghill carnival.
”This is the first time we are going to be having awardees and guests coming to London. The award categories have become more interesting and they have become more competitive in recent years’ claiming the award had been celebrated consistently for five years adding: “we are glad to be back, bigger and better.
According to her, this time, the occasion will be held in London,” Aboyade-Cole stated in a media briefing.
He said the award event would also elect its first ever ‘Podium Ambassador’ with the gathering picking a youth for the revered Youth Ambassador post.

The year’s award comes on the trail of last year success.
It also touched on the organisation’s give-back strategy saying that is made to give back what it had leanrt over the years :”The London’s Podium Recognition Awards 2016 is to give back to inspiring selfless efforts and involvement of everyone at this event dedicated majorly to appreciate the hardworking individuals who have thrived in their various fields and also supported others in life.
The evening would also attract professionals who would create new business link as menus are served on the night.
The occasion is to be hosted by the famous international compere cum Award winning comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka De 1st,flying-in from NIgeria to host the event, supported by Brenda Modupe David(Brendaizy), an entertainer.
”As we are not doing this for profit, proceeds from the ticket sales goes towards supporting TAC FOUNDATION’s project ; “A MEAL A DAY” to support families struggling to put food on the table, it was announced.
Also planned is an after-party that goes with an international DJ and live music to round off the day.
