Messages of condolence keep pouring on social media where hundreds of sympathizers are expressing their feelings for the aging professor.
“Death, that hydra-headed monster has just snatched away Kongi’s daughter, Iyetade. Death is indeed a wicked gnome. Every soul created must surely taste the bitter pills of death. Words failed me today with a quavering pen dangling like a pendulum in my right hand. The tragic news instantly sticks like barnacles to the slippery wall of my belly. I felt the queasy rush down my throat as if in a trance. Weep not, WS.Weep not our own Africa’s William Shakespeare” wrote Dare Lasisi, a blogger on his facebook page.
