“Your Voice Is In The Kitchen”, Buhari Tells Wife From Germany-Apparently startled by the wild reaction which had met his wife’s currently granted interview with the BBC, President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted that his wife was irrelevant to his governmental dispensation.

According to the president in a short response to the BBC, he said his wife has never been recognised to belong to any political party but rather that she is only a personality fit for his kitchen, his bedroom and his sitting room.

He was apparently startled and had to chuckle as he responded on a tape which emerged during a press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

He apparently held a shaking voice and can be heard chuckling before making the remark.

buhari-salamhis is how he put it: “I don’t know which party my wife belongs to, but she belongs to my kitchen and my living room and the other room.”

Buhari’s reaction would further put his credibility into questioning as his party, the APC had been an advocate of women involvement in governance and with the promises that more voice of the women would be heard during APC’s governmental dispensation. His retion may not be going down well with women activists and NGO gurus.

Nigerians Reacts To Buhari’s Women demeaning statement;

Wild reactions have met Buhari’s wife’s claim that his husband’s friend had hijacked the seat of power and holding important posts since emerging  the president of Nigeria.

On the tape from the press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel he can be heard chuckling before he made the remark.

But people don’t seem to be taking it as a joke:

What is the difference between Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria and Donald Trump of America? They feel women are inferior.”, claimed Simon Joash and another respondent on BBC facebook page,  Kur Awan Kur accused Buhari of relegating women “You’ve just fallen short… Everyone has got the right to express herself or himself the way they want, no matter where they are… Admit your failures and give change a chance.”

Bassey BigBa Ekpenyong reacted: “Mr Buhari, when your wife was campaigning for you, was she campaigning in the kitchen and bedroom?”
